Our local missions
community meal
We have four teams of people who prepare and serve a free lunch on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Typically we serve 40-50 people at each sitting. Lunches consist of sandwiches on different breads, two different homemade soups (one vegetarian), and a dessert such as fruit salad or cookies. When guests arrive at 11:30, they are invited to take a pre-lunch snack of yogurt or fresh fruit, and we have coffee, tea and juice available.

prayer shawl
Every Tuesday afternoon (1-3pm) a group of women meet to knit/crochet and chat. The prayer shawls are freely given to people who are unwell, hospitalized, or have lost a loved one. Everyone is welcome. Contact the office for details.

food security support
We support the food pantry with donations of non-perishable food items. Through our Benevolent Fund, we support people in the community who require short term assistance. In addition, we provide Christmas baskets for families in need by partnering with the Salvation Army. The need is great, and we are grateful to provide support.
Boarding homes
Our Boarding Home Ministry Team meets with male residents of a local boarding home bi-weekly. In addition to spending time with the residents, the team celebrates birthdays, holidays and special occasions.

Evangel hall Mission
EHM is a Presbyterian community service agency that has supported individuals experiencing poverty, homelessness, and social isolation in Toronto for over a century. St. Andrew's supports EHM each year with our collection of toiletries and other personal items which are delivered each December. Teams have also been involved in the Sunday evening meal - preparing and serving a nutritious meal for approximately 200 people.

Seniors Ministry
Bill and Sheila Stephens are our Seniors Ambassadors. They lead a group whose purpose is to connect with seniors in local retirement homes by spending time with and engaging in various activities. At this time, St. Andrew's is active at Barton Place, Alexander Muir, Amica and The Renoir.
